How to use Heyuri (for dummies)

So you're new to Heyuri, thats great. Welcome, take a look around. But before you post, before you even read the posts, or make judgements, you should know a few things about Heyuri, in addition to the aformentioned tips.

I think one man put it best;

While our old site did have an undeniable "old internet" sentiment to it, and a userbase that bathed in nostalgia like a junkie bathes in opioids, it wasn't trying to emulate old 4chan specifically, as many assumed (and continue to assume) at first glance - at least, not beyond the fact it was an English-language Futaba-clone with an emphasis on anime and internet humor, as well as a couple of old 4chan-derived features that we liked (OK, maybe it was a little old-4chan inspired...)

We are NOT a oldfag circlejerk, of the same 5-10 recycled jokes from 15-x years ago. While we can (and often do) appreciate these, we prefer to take things in our own way. In our eyes it is better to create something yourself that everyone can laugh at that than rehash a joke that you know for sure might get a kick out of a few. To put it in laymans terms, make your own stuff, dont just circlejerk the same old joke.

Now, beyond that, there is a even more niche list of rules you should follow when posting, something many like to call "netiquette". I will provide you a list of some.

[a mod's note regarding what kuz has wrote above: LOL K, I will play with Heyuri-tan's razor a little now]

NOW PRESENTING..... HEYURI-TANS RAZOR V2!
  1. Do not link to the OP post when replying to the OP post.

  2. Feel free to use "sage" as a downvote, although you should primarily use it when you don't contribute to thread or replying to a point made on another post.

  3. You are highly encouraged to create new threads instead of "chatting" in one thread.

  4. Prettify your posts with emotes as you see appropriate.

  5. Do not use nu-4chan words/phrases such as "based", "cringe", "cunny", "fam" etc, or don't shorten words with an apostrophe like "'yuri" instead of "heyuri".

  6. You can reply to older threads sitting in the backlog archive, but note that they won't get bumped. Consider creating a new thread to reply them if you think it's important

  7. Do not misuse the quoting feature: don't write "greentext" stories or quote something the user you are replying didn't directly tell. You may use it to quote texts from outer sites too.

  8. If you need to upload large files or need to share images on textboards, you can use this site. Feel free dump images on imageboards.
